22nd of November of 2016
The 2016 edition of the design trade show known as Print Stgo was held in Espacio Riesco, in Santiago, Chile, from November 16 to November 18. During this event, YG’s Director Sebastián Yáñez was invited to take part in a special series of lectures given by packaging experts from the wine and spirits industry.
This event, organized by Contraseña magazine and Asimpres (the Association for Printers and Graphic Communications Professionals)is attended by the most important companies in the market. At Print Stgo experts talk about current global trends in graphic communication and display the latest printing technology, value-added applications, and cross-media strategies.
Sebastián Yáñez gave a talk together with Chilean designer Ximena Ureta and Sebastián Aguirre, Marketing Maganer at Casillero del Diablo.
Sebastián’s talk was made up of two distinct parts: first, he lectured about industry trends like premiumization, the use of sleeves or colored bottles, and recent changes in the use of color to design labels. Secondly, he presented one of YG Design’s iconic real-life cases to illustrate the use of design and printing techniques.
In the Rocca Guicciarda project, the challenge was to update an increase perceived value while preserving the essence of the product. The design of the label draw much of its inspiration from a 1,300 tapestry. A fine work of graphic restoration recreated the original coat of arms and the decorative trims along the edges. More light, new details, and a 3D effect also add value to the final product.
